Massive "13 Million Protester" Teabagging

Via John Cole

Here is a roundup of the hijinks.

The protests, for some reason, were a little bit bigger than the massive wave of protests from these “fiscal conservatives” when the Republicans and George Bush passed on trillions of unfunded liabilities with the Prescription Drug Act. I just can’t figure out why. It is almost like this is just partisan nonsense whipped up by Koch foundation funded outlets.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most about this (apart from the obvious hypocrisy that none of these people would even flinch if any of this had been proposed by Bush and Tom DeLay) is that this is what happened in the real aftermath of 9/11:

And now, the memory of 9/11 is being latched onto by partisan hacks, astroturfing wingnut welfare foundations, right-wing radio hosts, wingnut bloggers, glibertarian shit-heels, and the usual hodge-podge of misanthropes, racists, and redneck socipaths to pursue a completely partisan agenda. These people really are shameless, especialy since the Republican party just spent the last eight years using 9/11 to do whatever they wanted. I guess now they have just moved on to 9/12. Assholes.

The RW lost the election but they refuse to acknowledge that their political party is no longer the majority party. If they were sincere about being fiscally responsible conservatives this would have been the 9th Tax Payer rally, not the first. By giving Bush a pass for 8 years on everything ranging from deficit budgets, to violations of the US Constitution, to the use of torture, to politically motivating firing of judges the RW demonstrators confirmed to the rest of the world their true motivation. This march had nothing to do with non-partisan issues like balancing the budget and it had everything to do with a RW who has a deep-seated hatred for African-Americans in general and our president in particular.

"In their mind, you see, dissent is hate and rebellion unless it is them doing it. Then it is their patriotic duty to do it."

I think the amazing lack of consistency in those reasons for the "dissent" is kinda why we form that opinion.

Honestly, it's amazing to me (if you are actually reading the text in any of my posts) the overall sentiment of the piece you walk away with.

Sure I read em, I mean a lot of this stuff is juvenile. I mean I don't insult lefties in my everyday life (mom is a big time lefty) the way this writer insults people on the right. I just don't feel the need to. Hell, I flirt with you cuz you're hot and I wanna make out with you. I just stick to the battle of ideas. And so far, I've owned you on healthcare and owned you on the minimum wage and whatever else we've argued about!

If you mean "owned" as in I walk away because I'm bored after you start repeating the same assertion over and over... ok then.

Otherwise, I've stomped your dick in the dirt on every assertion head-on (when you're not dodging or playing the conservative "jump around to an unrelated issue" game).

Seriously, you're so affected by the name-calling and insult sections of this piece to let it distract you entirely from the main point?

Why does name-calling, insults and adult language just stop conservatives in their tracks all the time anyway? I look right past that shit and stick with the main point or assertion. I could care less if somebody called me a name. But not conservatives, oh no.

"Why do you have to have such a potty-mouth?"
"Why ya gotta call me names?"
"Why are libs so typical with that foul language?"

Oh... just shut the fuck up, already. Are we 4 years old here or what?

"Teacher, teacher... Cody won't play nice, she called me a bad name!!"

GAWD!! I just wanna slap the shit out of an ignorant asshole that acts like he's never heard adult language in his whole goddamn life.

GET OVER IT!! Stick to the point!! Keep moving forward. Personally, in Twitter, or most social sites, it's clear that it's a bluff because they understand they're getting pinned down or cornered on their facts.

1) The protests are NOT about dissent. If they were (given all the reasons that teabaggers SAY they are expressing dissent) there would have been massive outrage for the last 8yrs of Constitutional violations, invasions of privacy and spending. This is phony obstructionist opposition at best, and bigotry at the worst.

2) Politicizing the images and memory of the 9/11 event to gin up support in some sick twisted meme of "patriotism" for the right to "own" is despicable.

That's the points being made here.... IGNORE the goddamn insults and anything else in the piece you see as "juvenile". Filter it out. Grow the fuck up already!!

I can see I'm gonna have to do like I said. I'll just post the first comment on every new blog, address it to you (obviously) and briefly explain what the take-away points of discussion are of the overall blog.

CHILDREN!!

Looks like you need to take your own advice, you are the hostile one here. I can react to any one of your posts in any way I like, and I try to focus on the ideas at hand...not the partisan hack points you try and make. Calling someone names is a sign of weakness and insecurity. Feeling the need to curse to get your point across is a sign of a limited vocabulary.

And this is bullshit btw. I could make the same assertion about the the anti-war set as President Obama is upping the ante in Afghanistan, not reversing policies on rendition, and has no plan whatsoever to close guantanamo. Did he come in and undo the Patriot Act that lefties were up in arms over? No. Where are the anti-war protesters who went to the Bush ranch in Crawford, TX and marched in DC? I can call all of those folks phony obstructionists of Bush if I wanted to, or deal with their arguments. I choose the latter simply because I haven't dehumanized my opposition as most lefties do to us...as if people's anger isn't real and their point of view ought to be dismissed. Children do name calling
